Vehicle crashes on I-89 in Georgia

GEORGIA, VT — A St. Albans man was injured after his vehicle hit black ice and left the roadway on Interstate 89 South on Nov. 13.

Vermont State Police from the St. Albans Barracks responded to the single-vehicle crash near mile marker 110 at 1:22 p.m.

Troopers located a 2017 Nissan Frontier that had left the roadway, causing damage to the front end, driver’s side and passenger side of the vehicle.

The vehicle was operated by Joseph Johnson, 34, of St. Albans.

Johnson was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

The airbags were deployed.

Johnson was transported to Northwestern Medical Center by Fairfax Rescue for suspected minor injuries.

Weather conditions at the time included sleet and wet road conditions.

Troopers were assisted on scene by Georgia Fire Department, Fairfax Rescue and Stone’s Towing.
