NORTH HAVEN, CT — Police have arrested a Hartford man in connection with an attempted burglary at a jewelry store on Washington Avenue.
Troy Coleman, 58, of Hartford, was taken into custody Nov. 12 by warrant, according to the North Haven Police Department.
The incident occurred at approximately 2:52 a.m. April 14, when three suspects attempted to gain entry to the jewelry store by using a sledgehammer to breach the front door.
Surveillance footage captured the suspects, who fled after triggering the store’s audible alarm.
North Haven detectives collected forensic evidence and worked with the State of Connecticut Forensic Laboratory and multiple regional law enforcement agencies to identify Coleman as one of the suspects.
Coleman was charged with attempted burglary and criminal mischief.
He was held on a court-set bond of $100,000 and transported to Meriden Superior Court for arraignment.
Police said the business had been targeted multiple times and additional arrests are anticipated.
