ROCKLAND, MA — Massachusetts State Police and Rockland Police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man, Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz and Rockland Police Chief Nicholas P. Zeoli announced.
At approximately 9:35 p.m. Thursday, Rockland Police received a 911 call for a report of gunshots heard in the vicinity of 75 Deering Square.
Rockland Police and emergency medical personnel responded and located a 29-year-old male inside of a parked motor vehicle, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
The victim was transported to South Shore Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
He is not being identified at this time.
Rockland Police contacted the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit assigned to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office, and an investigation commenced.
As part of the investigation, detectives conducted interviews and individuals reported seeing a thin male dressed in all black flee the scene.
MSP enlisted the assistance of the MSP Airwing and a drone, and a ground and air search ensued.
The investigation is active and ongoing.
