COLONIE, NY — Two people were arrested after allegedly stabbing employees at a Taco Bell on Wolf Road late Sunday night.
The Colonie Police Department responded to a report of an active fight with a stabbing at the restaurant at 56 Wolf Road at approximately 11:32 p.m. on Nov. 9.
Police said store staff requested that Ahmad S. Morton, 33, of Schenectady, and Aryonna M. Rivera, 21, of Schenectady, provide proof of ownership for multiple mobile food orders they were attempting to collect.
Morton and Rivera responded by assaulting and ultimately stabbing store staff during a physical altercation, according to police.
The victims sustained injuries that were not life-threatening and were treated by Colonie EMS personnel.
Morton and Rivera fled the scene in a white Mercedes as police officers arrived, police said.
Responding officers unsuccessfully attempted to stop the vehicle during a brief pursuit that resulted in the car being abandoned in the area of Central Avenue in the Colonie Village.
A perimeter was established and both suspects were ultimately taken into custody at the Days Inn Hotel at 1606 Central Avenue.
Morton was charged with five felonies, five misdemeanors and eight violations of the vehicle and traffic law.
The most serious felony charges against Morton are first-degree robbery, second-degree burglary, second-degree assault and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
Rivera was charged with four felonies and two misdemeanors.
The most serious felony charges against Rivera are first-degree robbery, second-degree burglary and second-degree assault.
Both Morton and Rivera were arraigned in Colonie Town Court and remanded to the Albany County Correctional Facility pending a preliminary hearing.
