Man arrested on assault charge in Lockport

LOCKPORT, NY — A 22-year-old man has been arrested following a domestic disturbance investigation by the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Bureau.

Manuel Gerson Castro-Cabrera faces charges of second-degree assault, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, resisting arrest and second-degree obstructing governmental administration.

Castro-Cabrera is being held at the Niagara County Correctional Facility.

The Department of Homeland Security placed an immigration detainer on Castro-Cabrera through United States Border Patrol for being in the country unlawfully.
