LANCASTER, NY — A driver was arrested after allegedly damaging another motorist’s vehicle window during a road rage incident on Pleasantview Drive.

Police responded to a town residence for a report of a road rage incident not in progress between Oct. 17 and Oct. 23.

The victim told police he was driving his father’s vehicle on Transit Road approaching Pleasantview Drive when he noticed the driver of another vehicle visibly upset, throwing his hands up in the air after the victim had merged lanes.

The upset motorist sped up alongside the victim, yelling out the window and giving him the middle finger before speeding off eastbound on Pleasantview Drive, according to police.

The victim said he thought the incident was over as there were two to three cars between them, but those vehicles turned off on various side streets and he was back behind the offender.

As both vehicles were stopped at the Pleasantview Drive and Central Avenue traffic signal, the offender exited his vehicle and yelled “you wanna go” at the victim, then struck the driver side window with an open hand, causing damage to the window, police said.

The offender then laughed at the damage and got back in his car, according to police.

The victim was able to get a picture of the offender and the license plate.

Police responded to the offender’s house shortly after and took him into custody for criminal mischief and harassment.
