HOMER, NY — A 20-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred last month in the village.
Aaron T. Keem was arrested Friday on a Superior Court warrant charging him with second-degree murder in the death of Anthony T. Beecham, 53, according to the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office.
Beecham was found with multiple gunshot wounds in a driveway near Grove Street and State Route 281 at approximately 3:22 a.m. on Oct. 8 after officers responded to a report of a person possibly having a cardiac arrest.
Officers from the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office and Village of Homer Police Department performed life-saving measures on Beecham until TLC ambulance arrived.
Beecham was transported to Guthrie Cortland Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
Keem was taken into custody in the town of Dryden by members of the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office and Cortland County Sheriff’s Office.
He was arraigned through the Centralized Arraignment Process in Cortland County at 8 p.m. Friday.
