WATERBURY, CT — A man was arrested after allegedly abandoning an English Bulldog in a parking lot on Nov. 6.
Officers from the Waterbury Police Department responded to 330 Bishop Street for an animal complaint.
Officers were advised that an unknown individual driving a black SUV had dropped off an English Bulldog in the rear parking lot and left the scene.
Through investigation, officers located the black SUV and identified the driver as Hector Gonzalez, 24, of Waterbury.
Gonzalez told officers that he left the dog because he could not take care of it.
Gonzalez was taken into custody without incident.
During the investigation, officers seized ammunition and a Lorcin LL380 firearm.
Gonzalez was charged with cruelty to animals, weapons in a motor vehicle, carrying a firearm without a permit and illegal sale or transfer of a firearm.
