Woman arrested on assault, vandalism charges in Exeter

EXETER, RI — A woman was arrested following a disturbance Saturday afternoon.

Belinda Gauvin, 56, of Exeter, was taken into custody at 1:11 p.m. at 480 South County Trail.

State police troopers responded to a disturbance at the location.

Gauvin was charged with simple assault and vandalism.

She was transported to Westerly Hospital for evaluation.

Gauvin was arraigned by a justice of the peace at the hospital.

She was then transported to the Adult Correctional Institutions Women’s Intake Center, where she is being held as a violator.
