ONEIDA COUNTY, NY — A wrong-way driver was killed early Friday morning after a head-on collision on Interstate 90.
At approximately 2:25 a.m. Friday, troopers from State Police Troop T responded to reports of a car driving eastbound in the westbound lanes on I-90 in Oneida County.
Troopers located the vehicle, a 2018 Jeep, and followed it in the eastbound lanes for approximately 12 miles attempting to stop the driver.
The Jeep then struck a 2018 Ford pickup head-on.
The driver of the Jeep has been identified as Quinntin Walker, 35, of Ithaca, New York.
Walker was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the Ford has been identified as Mark Jean, 47, of Fulton, New York.
Jean is in a medically induced coma at Upstate Hospital.
The passenger of the Ford has been identified as Nicholas Malone, 46, of Syracuse, New York.
Malone is conscious and in critical condition at Upstate Hospital.
All westbound lanes were blocked following the crash.
A diversion was set up at Exit 32 westbound.
