HOPKINTON, MA — Police responded to a report of a woman with a knife attempting to enter an apartment building on Constitution Court on the evening shift.
Dispatchers initially received reports that the woman was outside the building yelling to be let in while holding a knife.
While officers were en route, dispatchers updated them that the woman had been let into the building by an unknown person.
Multiple officers responded and located the woman in the second floor stairwell after searching three floors.
Officers determined the woman was unarmed.
Police investigation found there was no active threat to the public and confirmed the woman was a resident of the building.
A ride-along clinician through the department’s co-response program immediately evaluated the woman and determined there was no mental health emergency.
