WOODSTOCK, VT — The Woodstock Police Department responded to a two-car motor vehicle crash on West Woodstock Road on Nov. 6.

The crash occurred at approximately 5:04 p.m. in the area of 4324 West Woodstock Road.

Police say Katharine Blum, 63, of Woodstock, was operating a 2018 Kia Forte and entered U.S. Route 4 from a parking lot at 4374 West Woodstock Road in front of oncoming traffic.

Blum’s vehicle struck the front quarter panel of a 1998 Toyota Camry, which was traveling eastbound and operated by Matthew Broadwell, 29, of Plymouth.

After the initial contact, Broadwell’s vehicle struck the guardrail on the passenger’s side before crossing the road and ending up on the front lawn of the Sleep Woodstock Inn.

Neither party requested emergency medical services.

Blum’s vehicle was able to be driven from the scene, while Broadwell’s vehicle required removal and he arranged for his own towing service.

Blum was found to be in violation of Title 23, VSA 1047, Vehicle Turning Left.

Corporal Murphy investigated the crash.
