Motorcyclist seriously injured in collision in Stamford

STAMFORD, CT — A motorcyclist suffered serious and possibly life-threatening injuries after colliding with a car Thursday night.

The crash occurred at the intersection of Greenwich Avenue and South State Street at approximately 8:42 p.m.

A 2019 KTM 390 motorcycle was traveling northbound on Greenwich Avenue when it collided with a 2019 Mercedes at the intersection.

The motorcycle operator, a 26-year-old Stamford resident, was thrown from the motorcycle and transported to Stamford Hospital.

The operator of the Mercedes, a 37-year-old Norwalk resident, was not injured in the collision.

The intersection was closed for approximately three and a half hours during the investigation.

The Stamford Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Squad is investigating the crash.

Officers Lindsey Yanicky and Ernest Leslie are investigating.
