COOPERSTOWN, NY — New York State Police conducted an underage drinking detail in Otsego County on Nov. 5.
One business was found to be not in compliance.
An employee of Rudy’s Liquor Store was issued an appearance ticket for violation of New York State ABC Law for prohibited sale of alcohol to a person under 21.
Nine businesses were recognized for their compliance: Stewart’s Shop in Richfield Springs, Mirabito in Richfield Springs, Speedway in Richfield Springs, Fly Creek General Store/Citgo in Fly Creek, Gasway Convenience Store in Schuyler Lake, Sunoco/Pit Stop in Cooperstown, J&J Wine & Liquor in Cooperstown, Mirabito in Cooperstown and Stewart’s Shop in Cooperstown.
During the investigations, businesses were checked using a trooper in plain clothes and one or several underage operatives who cannot lie about their age or provide a false date of birth if asked.
