COHOES, NY — The Cohoes Police Department, with assistance from the New York State Police S.O.R.T. (Special Operations Response Team) and K-9 teams, executed an early morning search warrant today at a residence located at 261 Remsen Street.
The action is the culmination of an investigation that began on Oct. 29.
On that date, Cohoes Police initially responded to two separate calls for service in the vicinity of Main Street and Schuyler Street.
The first call reported a large group fighting, and the subsequent call reported shots fired in the same area.
As a direct result of the investigation and the execution of the search warrant, two individuals were taken into custody and arraigned in Cohoes City Court by the Honorable Judge Eric Galarneau.
Tyleek R. Ramsey, 22, of Cohoes, was charged with attempted assault in the first degree, a class C felony; criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree, a class C felony; criminal use of firearm in the second degree, a class C felony; reckless endangerment in the first degree, a class D felony; bail jumping in the third degree, a class A misdemeanor; harassment in the second degree, a violation; and failure to appear to summons, a violation.
Ramsey was remanded to the Albany County Correctional Facility without bail.
Ashley L. Plowden, 42, of Cohoes, was charged with robbery in the third degree, a class D felony; grand larceny in the fourth degree, a class E felony; two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, class A misdemeanors; and harassment in the second degree, a violation.
Plowden was remanded to the Albany County Correctional Facility without bail due to having two prior felony convictions.
