13 arrested on drug trafficking charges in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, MA — Thirteen people were arrested Wednesday following a months-long investigation into cocaine distribution from an apartment on the 200 block of Orange Street.

Members of the Springfield Police Firearms Investigation Unit, along with the Hampden County Sheriff’s Department, Massachusetts State Police VFAS and United States Marshals Fugitive Task Force executed a search warrant at approximately 12:30 p.m. Nov. 5.

Detectives recovered approximately 130 grams of powder and crack cocaine, 384 bags of heroin, a loaded illegal firearm, 16 rounds of various loose ammunition and $734 in cash.

Fourteen suspects were initially detained, but one was later released and will receive a criminal complaint.

The apartment was condemned by the Springfield Police Ordinance Unit and city Code Enforcement for violations and unsanitary conditions.

Those arrested include Yared Rios, 41, of Springfield; Alisha Santana, 36, of Chicopee; Jaimour Anderson, 40, of Springfield; Celeste Key, 41, of Springfield; Raziel Garcia, 29, of Springfield; Zoraya Sales, 30, of Indian Orchard; Christopher Kremski, 64, of Springfield; Natasha Stern, 36, of Springfield; Dorine Harrison, 53, of Springfield; Taveon Awosika, 19, of Springfield; Amee Vega, 43, of Springfield; Jose Cintron, 38, of Springfield; and Fredrick Smith, 55, of Springfield.

All 13 suspects face charges including cocaine trafficking 100-200 grams, possession with intent to distribute a Class A drug, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm without an FID card, possession of ammunition without an FID card and conspiracy to violate drug law.

Several suspects also face additional charges on outstanding warrants.

Anderson initially provided a false name to police and faces an additional charge of arrestee furnish a false name.
