State police patrol vehicle stolen in Davenport

DAVENPORT, NY — An 18-year-old from Plainview is in custody after stealing a marked New York State Police patrol vehicle from a repair shop.

Troopers from SP Oneonta were notified at approximately 5 a.m. Nov. 5 of a burglary that occurred overnight at Accurate Auto and Truck Repair LLC in the town of Davenport.

A State Police patrol vehicle that had been undergoing service at the location was taken from the premises.

No weapons were inside the car at the time it was taken.

At approximately 6 a.m., the vehicle was located on Interstate 90 in the town of Schodack, Rensselaer County.

Troopers located the 18-year-old male inside and took him into custody without incident.

The individual was arraigned in the Town of Schodack Court and charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the Third Degree, a Class D felony.

He was then turned over to investigators from Troop C, where he was additionally charged with Burglary in the Third Degree and Grand Larceny in the Third Degree, both Class D felonies.
