CAPE ELIZABETH, ME — A Cape Elizabeth man is facing felony charges after allegedly firing at least one shot at a tow truck during a vehicle repossession.
Roger Dickinson, 61, of Cape Elizabeth, was arrested Nov. 5 following a standoff at 21 Longfellow Drive, according to the Cape Elizabeth Police Department.
Police said a repossession agent was removing a vehicle from the property when someone inside the residence fired at the tow truck.
A female passenger and a four-month-old child were inside the truck at the time of the shooting, police said.
Officers from Cape Elizabeth and South Portland police departments, along with the Southern Maine Regional SWAT Team, responded and established a perimeter around the residence.
Dickinson exited the house approximately one hour later and was taken into custody without further incident, police said.
He has been charged with reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon and attempted elevated aggravated assault.
Dickinson is being held at the Cumberland County Jail and is scheduled to be arraigned Friday.
Officers found suspicious items inside the residence, prompting a response from the Portland Police Department’s Hazardous Device Team.
The items were determined not to present any threat to the community, police said.
