ROCKLAND, ME — A juvenile has been arrested in connection with a shooting incident that occurred near public restrooms on Tillson Avenue.
Rockland Police were called to the Rockland Public Restrooms at approximately 9 p.m. on Oct. 31 for a report of shots fired.
Police learned through witness and victim interviews, physical evidence collection and surveillance video that a verbal confrontation between a juvenile and a young adult over social media posts escalated when the juvenile displayed a firearm.
The juvenile fired a shot in the air and pointed the firearm at the adult and approximately 10 other juveniles who were present, according to police.
After the initial incident, the juvenile fired several more shots near the Water Treatment Plant.
No one was injured during the incident.
Rockland Police took the juvenile suspect into custody without incident on Nov. 3.
The juvenile was transported to Long Creek Youth Development Center and charged with felony reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon, felony criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon, unlawful concealment of a firearm and discharge of a firearm less than 100 yards from a dwelling.
