Woman arrested on warrant in Williamstown

WILLIAMSTOWN, VT — A woman was arrested on an active warrant following a traffic stop on Beckett Street.

State Police conducted a motor vehicle stop at 3:30 p.m. Monday for an observed motor vehicle violation.

The operator was identified as Moriah Ford, 32, of Williamstown.

Investigation revealed Ford had an active arrest warrant.

While being arrested, Ford resisted and attempted to assault a trooper, police said.

Ford was taken into custody and transported to the Berlin Barracks for processing.

She was later lodged at the Chittenden County Correctional Facility on the warrant.

Ford was issued a citation to appear in Orange County Superior Court, Criminal Division, on Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. to answer charges of resisting arrest and violation of conditions of release.
