MALTA, NY — The Sheriff’s Office responded to a property damage motor vehicle crash Sunday at 9:18 a.m. on Silver Beach Road.
Investigation into the crash led to the arrest of Fred F. Albright, 44, of Saratoga Springs.
Albright is accused of operating a motor vehicle while in an intoxicated condition at a time when his driver’s license was revoked due to two prior DWI convictions.
The DWI charge was upgraded to a class felony due to the prior convictions which occurred within the preceding 10 years.
He is charged with moving his vehicle from its lane without first ascertaining that he could do so safely.
His vehicle reportedly left the roadway and struck a utility pole resulting in a downed pole and wires.
Albright was not injured.
He was arraigned before the Honorable Ted M. Brown in the Malta Town Court and remanded to the Saratoga County Jail pending further proceedings.
