ROTTERDAM, NY — State Police arrested a Schenectady man on multiple charges following a vehicle pursuit and crash on October 29.
Dennis M. Wohlleber, 35, of Schenectady, faces charges of criminal mischief in the fourth degree, criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree, two counts of unlawfully fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle and numerous vehicle and traffic law violations.
Troopers from the Troop G Community Stabilization Unit attempted to stop a vehicle driven by Wohlleber at about 12:34 p.m. on McClellan Street in Schenectady for a vehicle and traffic law violation.
Wohlleber failed to comply, and a vehicle pursuit was initiated.
The pursuit ended when Wohlleber crashed his vehicle into a fence at the Bigsbee Village Condominiums in Rotterdam.
He then fled on foot and was taken into custody outside a residence on Helderberg Avenue with the assistance of the Schenectady Police Department.
An illegally possessed metal knuckle knife was later discovered in Wohlleber’s vehicle, which was seized.
Wohlleber was transported to State Police Princetown for processing.
He was issued appearance tickets returnable to Schenectady City Court and Rotterdam Town Court on November 13 and released to the Schenectady Police Department due to an unrelated active bench warrant.
Wohlleber was additionally wanted by the Colonie Police Department on another unrelated warrant.
