Man arrested in Roxbury shooting

BOSTON, MA — Boston Police arrested a man following a double shooting in Roxbury on Sunday morning.

Officers assigned to District B-2 responded to a report of a person shot in the area of Marvin Street at approximately 10:47 a.m. on Nov. 2.

Upon arrival, officers located an adult male victim suffering from a gunshot wound.

Officers rendered medical aid before Boston EMS transported the victim to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

While officers were still on scene, Boston Police Operations received a report of a second shooting victim near 256 Dudley Street.

That individual was also taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Following an investigation, detectives determined that the second victim was one of the individuals involved in the shooting.

Police arrested Pernell Brown, 56, of Boston.

Brown is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court on charges of armed assault with intent to murder, assault with a dangerous weapon, carrying a firearm without an FID card, possession of ammunition without an FID card, discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling and possession of a loaded firearm.

Brown also had two outstanding warrants for larceny under $1,200 and threat to commit a crime.
