SAND LAKE, NY — A woman was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated with two children in her vehicle.
State Police received a report of a possibly impaired driver on State Route 43 at about 9:35 a.m. Oct. 27.
Troopers patrolled the area and located a vehicle matching the caller’s description on State Route 43 and stopped the vehicle for a Vehicle and Traffic Law violation.
The driver was identified as Brittany R. Anderson, 35, of Averill Park.
Two children under the age of 16 were located in the vehicle.
The children were turned over to a family member.
Anderson was arrested for Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated with a Child, Driving While Impaired by Drugs, two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations.
She was transported to State Police Sand Lake for processing where she was evaluated by a Drug Recognition Expert.
Samples were taken to determine the drug and alcohol content of her blood.
Anderson was arraigned at Schodack Town Court where she was released on her own recognizance.
