Two arrested after disturbance at gas station in North Haven

NORTH HAVEN, CT — Two men were arrested early Saturday after police responded to a report of a woman possibly in distress at a gas station.

Officers were dispatched to 224 Quinnipiac Avenue at approximately 12:15 a.m. on Nov. 1 for the report.

Upon arrival, witnesses directed officers to a vehicle occupied by two males and one female.

Officers made contact with the individuals and separated them to investigate further.

It was determined that a dispute had occurred between one of the males and the female.

During the investigation, officers learned that a firearm might be present in the vehicle.

A subsequent search revealed a firearm inside a backpack within the vehicle.

Tyler Kibbe, 22, of Hartford, Connecticut, was arrested and charged with assault in the third degree, breach of peace in the second degree and possession of a controlled substance.

Luis Alberto Lugo, 22, of New Haven, Connecticut, was arrested and charged with illegal possession of a weapon in a motor vehicle, carrying a pistol without a permit, failure to obtain a serial number and violation of large-capacity magazine.
