MARATHON, NY — Two tractor-trailers collided on Interstate 81 southbound at mile marker 37 on Oct. 30 at approximately 8:24 p.m.
Officers from the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash and found both tractor-trailers blocking the southbound lanes.
One tractor-trailer was disabled in the right lane when a second tractor-trailer traveling in the same direction was unable to avoid the disabled vehicle.
The second driver attempted to swerve at the last moment but struck the disabled vehicle.
No injuries were reported as a result of the crash.
The Cortland County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by the Broome County Sheriff’s Office, New York State Police, Marathon Area Volunteer Ambulance Corps, New York State Department of Transportation, Ron’s Towing and Clukey’s Garage.
