BARNSTABLE, MA — A months-long investigation into fentanyl and cocaine distribution in Barnstable and surrounding communities resulted in the arrest of a 33-year-old man.
Eric Brando, of Osterville, was taken into custody on Oct. 30 by members of the Barnstable Police Department Detective Unit.
The detective unit partnered with the Drug Enforcement Administration Cape Cod Resident Office, Cape Cod Regional Law Enforcement Council SWAT Team, and K-9 units from Yarmouth, Mashpee and Sandwich police departments for the arrest.
Following Brando’s arrest, search warrants were executed in Osterville and Mashpee, which yielded a large amount of cocaine and U.S. currency.
Brando was charged with distribution of a Class A substance (fentanyl) and trafficking cocaine 36 grams or more/less than 100 grams.
He was arraigned at Barnstable District Court on Friday and was ordered held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing on Nov. 7.
