Man fatally shot in Paterson

PATERSON, NJ — A 64-year-old man was fatally shot Thursday night in Paterson, authorities said.

Members of the Paterson Police Department responded to the area of Mercer Street and Franklin Street at approximately 8:09 p.m. on Oct. 30 on a report of shots fired, according to Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Department Officer-In-Charge Patrick Murray.

When officers arrived on scene, they located the victim, a man from Paterson, with a gunshot wound.

The victim was transported to Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

The investigation is active and ongoing.
