Man arrested after brandishing knife at party in Glassboro

GLASSBORO, NJ — A 19-year-old man dressed as a police officer for Halloween was arrested after allegedly brandishing a knife and making threats when denied entry to a party.

Officers responded to the 300 block of North Main Street at approximately 1:49 a.m. for a report of a male who brandished a knife and made threats after he was denied access to a Halloween party.

Officers in the area located a subject matching the description within minutes.

A brief foot chase ensued before officers detained the male, identified as John Bekhet, 19, of Staten Island, New York.

The knife used in the alleged altercation was located near Bekhet and recovered.

After further investigation, Bekhet was placed under arrest.

Bekhet was charged with terroristic threats, possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose, unlawful possession of a weapon, obstruction, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.

He was lodged in the Salem County Jail.
