Two arrested on drug charges in Lawrence

LAWRENCE, NY — New York State Police arrested two people on drug charges following a traffic stop on Oct. 25.

Jennifer L. Crump, 49, of Ogdensburg, and Gary P. Crump, 55, of Nicholville, were each charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree.

Troopers observed a 1997 Jeep Wrangler traveling on County Route 54 at approximately 6:06 p.m. in violation of vehicle and traffic laws.

After initiating a traffic stop, troopers identified Gary Crump as the operator and Jennifer Crump as the passenger.

During the interview, troopers determined that neither had a valid New York State driver’s license.

Gary Crump was arrested for Aggravated Unlicensed Operation.

While being searched, he was found to be in possession of narcotics, at which time Jennifer Crump claimed ownership of the narcotics.

Both were taken into custody.

A search of the vehicle revealed additional narcotics and drug paraphernalia.

The narcotics were later identified as cocaine.

Gary and Jennifer Crump were transported to State Police Massena for processing.

Gary Crump was charged with four counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree and issued multiple vehicle and traffic tickets.

Jennifer Crump was charged with five counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree.

Both were released on appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Lawrence Court at a later date in November.
