BATH, NY — Officers arrested a Rochester man on a drug charge following a report of an erratic driver on Oct. 27.
Officers with the Village of Bath Police Department, Steuben County Sheriff’s Office and New York State Police were dispatched to the area of State Route 415 South at approximately 12:38 p.m. for an erratic driver and possible rolling domestic heading into the village.
Bath officers located the vehicle and made contact with the occupants who were determined to be having an argument, resulting in erratic driving.
During the investigation, a quantity of fentanyl was located in the possession of a passenger in the vehicle.
The driver of the vehicle was issued two traffic tickets for driving left of pavement markings and unlicensed operation.
The passenger, identified as Anthony R. Jackson, 39, of Rochester, was taken into custody for the possession of fentanyl.
Jackson was processed and charged with one count of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a Class A misdemeanor.
Jackson was found to have felony warrants out of the City of Rochester Police Department.
Jackson was issued an appearance ticket and is due to appear in Bath Village Court at a later date.
Jackson was turned over to the Rochester Police Department on the warrants.
