BOSTON, MA — Boston Police officers arrested a man in connection with an armed robbery Sunday morning in the South End.
Brian Lewis, 54, of Boston, was taken into custody following a reported larceny in progress at 9:23 a.m. at 231 Massachusetts Avenue.
Police said Lewis threatened store employees with pepper spray before fleeing toward Clearway Street.
Officers from District D-4 quickly located a man matching the suspect’s description walking near Belvedere Street.
Lewis was arrested without incident, and a canister of pepper spray was recovered during a search following his arrest.
He is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court on charges of armed robbery.
