HOLYOKE, MA — Two people were arrested and drugs and cash were seized following a gun call Friday afternoon, police said.
Officers responded to the area of Hamilton Street around 12:40 p.m. for a report of a gun, according to Police Chief Brian Keenan.
Officers located a suspect near 542 South Bridge Street and entered an alleyway where they found Adiene Santana, who was carrying two cross-body bags, and Vicente Torres.
Officers detained Santana pending an investigation.
No firearm was located, but officers recovered approximately 250 vials of suspected crack-cocaine, six half-packs containing approximately 300 bags of suspected heroin/fentanyl and $3,868 in cash inside a bag, police said.
During a search of Torres and his immediate area, officers found $744 in cash, a bag of suspected heroin/fentanyl and a vial of suspected crack-cocaine.
Both men were placed under arrest.
Santana, 19, of Holyoke, is charged with possession with intent to distribute a Class A drug, possession with intent to distribute a Class B drug, conspiracy to violate drug law, possession of a Class A drug, possession of a Class B drug and trespassing.
Torres, 52, of Holyoke, is charged with possession with intent to distribute a Class A drug, possession with intent to distribute a Class B drug, conspiracy to violate drug law, possession of a Class A drug, possession of a Class B drug and trespassing.
