BOSTON, MA — Two men were arrested on multiple firearm and drug-related charges Sunday night in Dorchester after police responded to a report of individuals with guns.
Officers assigned to District C-11 arrested Shawquan Jackson, 35, of Brookline, and Tyreek Woodley, 26, of Dorchester, at about 8:17 p.m. in the area of Alpha Road.
Police responded to 45 Alpha Road for a report of two males with firearms and observed two individuals walking into a driveway at 34 Alpha Road and unlocking a motor vehicle.
The property owner told officers the individuals did not live there.
As officers attempted to handcuff Woodley, they felt a firearm inside his front left jacket pocket.
Woodley immediately removed his coat and fled toward Tremlett Street, police said.
Officers pursued Woodley on foot and quickly apprehended him.
A search of the discarded jacket revealed a stolen Glock 43 with one round in the chamber and 12 rounds in the magazine.
Meanwhile, officers observed Jackson reaching for a fanny pack slung over his shoulder at his waistline.
Jackson was placed in handcuffs, and officers recovered a firearm from inside the fanny pack.
Officers also recovered approximately 10 grams of fentanyl in a plastic bag from the fanny pack.
The firearm was identified as a Glock 17 with one round in the chamber and 30 rounds in the magazine.
A sear switch was mounted to the firearm, allowing it to be fully automatic, police said.
