BERLIN, VT — Vermont State Police arrested a woman after she was reported driving the wrong way on Interstate 89 on Oct. 26.
Troopers responded at 10:23 p.m. to a report of a northbound driver traveling in the southbound lanes near mile marker 39 in Brookfield.
The vehicle was safely stopped near Exit 6 in the southbound lane.
The operator was identified as Sherline Azemar, 50, of Repentigny, Quebec.
She was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Berlin Barracks for processing.
Azemar was charged with gross negligent operation.
She was released with a citation to appear in Washington County Superior Court – Criminal Division on Nov. 27 at 8:30 a.m.
The Vermont State Police were assisted at the scene by the Montpelier Police Department and E&S Transport.
