Motorcyclist dies after crash in Hamilton

HAMILTON, MA — A motorcyclist died Thursday night following a crash on Bay Road.

Hamilton police and fire departments responded to the area of 651 Bay Road at approximately 7:50 p.m. for a reported motorcycle accident.

Officers found a severely damaged motorcycle on the sidewalk across from 651 Bay Road and a helmet in the roadway.

Police searched the adjacent property and located a male subject who was severely injured.

The victim was identified as Rico Lauranzano, 31, of Beverly.

Officers began medical treatment until Hamilton Fire Department and EMS arrived.

Lauranzano was transported to Beverly Hospital, where he later died.

The Massachusetts State Police Accident Reconstruction Unit is investigating along with the Hamilton Police Department.

The crash appears to be a single motorcycle accident.

It is unknown at this time if speed or alcohol was a factor.
