Police-involved shooting in East Windsor

EAST WINDSOR, NJ — The condition of an individual injured in a police-involved shooting on October 21 remains critical, authorities said.

The individual has been transferred from Capital Health-Fuld to Cooper University Hospital.

The Office of Professional Integrity and Accountability in the Division of Criminal Justice has designated the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office as the investigating agency for the police-involved shooting.

Prosecutor Marbrey has designated the Mercer County Homicide Task Force as the unit responsible for the investigation.

After a preliminary investigation, the injured individual was armed with a large knife when he encountered East Windsor Township police officers, authorities said.

Investigators recovered the knife on scene.
