Woman arrested on drug charges in Bath

BATH, NY — A 29-year-old woman was arrested on drug charges after allegedly disposing of controlled substances while being taken into custody on a warrant in September.

Sarah A. Baldwin, of Bath, was initially arrested on Sept. 16 when a Village of Bath Police Department officer observed her walking on Haverling Street.

The officer knew Baldwin had an active warrant for her arrest and took her into custody.

While being arrested, Baldwin disposed of controlled substances to another person, according to police.

Baldwin was processed on the warrant, arraigned in Bath Village Court and released pending further investigation on new charges.

Following the investigation, an arrest warrant was issued for Baldwin.

On Oct. 22, a Village of Bath Police Department officer arrested Baldwin on the warrant.

She was charged with criminal sale of a controlled substance in the third degree, a class B felony; criminal sale of a controlled substance in the fifth degree, a class D felony; tampering with physical evidence, a class E felony; and two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree.

Baldwin was arraigned in Bath Village Court and released.
