LINDEN, NJ — Two men have been arrested in connection with a shooting that took place on S. Wood Ave last month.
Jevan Carrie, 19, and Jeyrin Munoz, 18, both of Linden, were arrested separately in Linden on Oct. 4.
Detectives allege that the men conspired to fire multiple shots at a vehicle parked in a parking lot on the 700 block of S. Wood Ave.
A 35-year-old Elizabeth woman was treated on scene and transported to Newark University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after being struck by the gunfire.
A two-week investigation led by the Linden Police Detective Bureau identified Munoz and Carrie as the suspects.
Munoz is charged with second-degree aggravated assault, weapons possession, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, as well as fourth-degree aggravated assault by pointing a firearm.
Carrie is charged with second-degree conspiracy to commit aggravated assault.
They were both committed to the Essex County Jail following their arrest.
Police Chief David Hart said every single crime involving gun violence committed this year has resulted in an arrest.
