Man arrested on multiple warrants in Glocester

GLOCESTER, RI — A 42-year-old man was arrested on seven outstanding bench warrants on Oct. 22.

Members of the Rhode Island Violent Fugitive Task Force and the Glocester Police Department arrested Micheal Gilligan, of Glocester.

The warrants included a Third Division District Court bench warrant for failure to appear for sentencing on a violation for an original charge of obstructing an officer to execute duty originating out of the West Warwick Police Department.

He also faced a Providence Superior Court bench warrant for failure to appear for sentencing on a violation for an original charge of possession of Schedule I-IV originating out of the Providence Police Department.

Additional warrants included a Kent County Superior Court bench warrant for failure to appear for sentencing on a technical violation for an original charge of eluding law enforcement – vehicle originating out of the Coventry Police Department.

Gilligan also faced a Kent County Superior Court bench warrant for failure to appear for pretrial conference on an original charge of possession of a Schedule I-IV originating out of the West Warwick Police Department.

He was wanted on a Providence Superior Court bench warrant for failure to appear for sentencing on a violation for an original charge of possession of a Schedule I-IV originating out of the Scituate Police Department.

Two additional Kent County Superior Court bench warrants were issued for failure to appear for sentencing on violations for original charges of manufacturing/delivery/possession with intent to deliver and eluding law enforcement – vehicle, both originating out of the Coventry Police Department.

Gilligan was taken into custody without incident and turned over to members of the Glocester Police Department.
