NEW HARTFORD, NY — A 42-year-old man was arrested on felony domestic violence charges after allegedly threatening a woman at a Walmart parking lot while violating an order of protection.
Paul Ramos, of Lyons Falls, was taken into custody early in the morning on Oct. 21 by the Dewitt Police Department and turned over to New Hartford police.
The victim reported to the New Hartford Police Department lobby on Oct. 20 that she had been approached and threatened by Ramos earlier that day at the Walmart on Commercial Drive.
Police determined Ramos was subject to an active Oneida County Family Court Order of Protection prohibiting any contact with the victim stemming from a prior incident.
Officers collected evidence from the scene and obtained an arrest warrant from the Town of New Hartford Court.
Ramos was charged with criminal contempt in the first degree, a felony; aggravated family offense, a misdemeanor; and harassment in the second degree, a violation.
He was taken to the Oneida County Jail and held for arraignment in Oneida County Centralized Arraignment Court.
