WINSLOW TOWNSHIP, NJ — A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle that fled the scene Saturday evening.
Winslow Township police were dispatched to the area of Andrews Road by Lehigh Manor Drive at 7:28 p.m. Oct. 18 for a report of a person lying in the roadway.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a person had been struck by a motor vehicle.
The striking vehicle left the area without reporting the crash.
Police believe the pedestrian was walking westbound in the middle of the roadway when they were struck and fell to the ground.
Winslow Township Fire and EMS responded and treated the victim at the scene.
The victim was transported to Jefferson Hospital in Sewell, where they later died from their injuries.
The victim was identified as Jon R. Kitzmiller II, 36, of Sicklerville.
The incident is being investigated by the Winslow Township Highway Safety Unit.
