SOMERVILLE, NJ — A Somerset woman died Sunday morning following a two-vehicle crash on Easton Avenue near Cedar Grove Lane.
Michele Rojek, 51, of Somerset, was transported to an area trauma center where she was pronounced dead, according to Somerset County Prosecutor John P. McDonald.
Franklin Township police responded to a 9-1-1 call reporting the crash at approximately 7:43 a.m. Sunday.
The preliminary investigation found that Rojek was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of Easton Avenue when her 2019 white Honda Civic collided with a 2023 gray Toyota Tundra, McDonald stated.
Witness reports confirmed the preliminary findings.
The operator of the Toyota Tundra, a 37-year-old man from Piscataway, did not require medical attention.
Officers from the Franklin Township Police Department Traffic Safety Bureau and investigators from the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Collision Analysis Reconstruction Team are conducting the investigation.
