SECAUCUS, NJ — A 25-year-old man was arrested on weapons charges following a road rage incident on Route 3 East on Oct. 20.
Police said a driver reported that a man operating a grey Nissan brandished a firearm magazine and threatened to shoot him at approximately 8:30 a.m. while traveling on Route 3 East.
Secaucus Police Officer Justin Machno observed the fleeing Nissan on Route 3 East.
Officer Machno, with the assistance of other patrol officers, stopped the vehicle and detained the driver and sole occupant, identified as Travon Gantt, of East Orange.
After being positively identified as the man who threatened the other driver, his vehicle was searched.
During the search of Gantt’s vehicle, a rifle magazine loaded with 5.56 caliber rounds was located within the passenger compartment.
A Smith and Wesson M & P Rifle and a Mossberg 12 gauge shotgun were also located, along with numerous rounds of rifle and shotgun ammunition.
Gantt was charged with two counts of possession of a firearm for an unlawful purpose and two counts of unlawful possession of rifle/shotgun.
He was lodged in the Hudson County Jail.
