BRUNSWICK, NY — A Troy man faces felony charges after state police say he promoted and possessed images of child sexual exploitation.
Jeremy M. Wrobel, 37, of Troy, was arrested Oct. 16 by State Police with assistance from the Troop G Computer Crimes Unit, the Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
Wrobel is charged with Promoting a Sexual Performance by a Child, a class D felony, and Possessing a Sexual Performance by a Child, a class E felony.
The investigation began with a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
Police searched Wrobel’s Troy residence Oct. 16.
He was transported to State Police Brunswick, where he was arrested and processed.
Wrobel was arraigned at Troy City Court and released under supervision of the Rensselaer County Probation Department.
