STAMFORD, CT — A motorcyclist was arrested after police observed him running a red light and driving recklessly through the city.
Officers on patrol in the downtown area observed the motorcyclist run a red light and accelerate at a high rate of speed.
When officers attempted to follow, the operator continued to drive recklessly throughout the city, slowing down, speeding up, and skidding his bike in traffic, according to police.
Officers maintained visual surveillance and tracked the operator to the South End, where he parked near the corner of Atlantic Street and Henry Street and entered a nearby business.
Officers set up surveillance, and shortly after, the suspect exited the business and was taken into custody.
The operator was identified as Harry Vizcarrondo, 22, of Stamford.
He was charged with reckless driving, two counts of improper lane change, no motorcycle endorsement, failure to display marker plate, two counts of failure to obey traffic control signal, and improper parking.
Vizcarrondo was also charged with possession of narcotics after 1.3 grams of cocaine were discovered during booking, police said.
