NAUGATUCK, CT — A man was arrested after allegedly threatening an Amazon delivery driver with a firearm during a dispute over a package delivery.

Naugatuck Police officers responded to Manners Avenue at approximately 6 p.m. Oct. 15 after the delivery driver reported being threatened with a firearm.

Officers located John Tufaro Jr., 47, of Naugatuck, in the area and found a firearm on his person.

Tufaro was legally in possession of the firearm and held a valid Connecticut pistol permit.

Multiple witnesses reported that an argument occurred regarding the delivery of a package to an address on Manners Avenue.

During the argument, Tufaro revealed a firearm tucked in a holster in his waistband.

The firearm was safely removed without incident, and Tufaro was taken into custody.

The investigation revealed that Tufaro held firearm permits in two other states.

Those permits were seized, and seven firearms were voluntarily surrendered to the police department while the case is pending in court.

Tufaro was charged with threatening in the first degree, reckless endangerment in the second degree and breach of peace.

He was released on a $25,000 surety bond and is scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Oct. 29.
