JAMESTOWN, NY — A man was arrested Sunday afternoon following a domestic dispute on the city’s west side.

Officers from the Jamestown Police Department Second Platoon responded to the incident at about 3:16 p.m. Oct. 19.

Police determined through investigation that Kedrin D. Murphy had initiated an argument with the victim.

During the argument, Murphy took the victim’s phone from her hand when she was attempting to call 911, according to police.

Murphy did so while the victim was holding a baby, which caused the baby to hit its head, police said.

Officers learned that Murphy then damaged the phone by throwing it.

Murphy was placed into custody and transported to the City Jail without incident.

Murphy is charged with two counts of criminal mischief in the fourth degree and endangering the welfare of a child.

Murphy is being held pending his arraignment in Jamestown City Court.
