SHREWSBURY, VT — Vermont State Police arrested a West Rutland man in connection with an attempted burglary at a gun shop.
Troopers responded to Carrara’s Gun Shop at approximately 8:24 a.m. Oct. 12 for a report of an attempted burglary.
Upon arrival, troopers found pry marks and boot prints on the back door of the business.
Video footage showed a suspect with a crowbar attempting to enter the gun shop.
More than $500 in damage was done to the exterior of the store during the attempted entry.
The shop owner shared a photo of the suspect obtained from security footage on social media.
Members of the public identified the suspect, and law enforcement confirmed the suspect as Ean Bruno, 27, of West Rutland.
Bruno was charged with attempted burglary, having or making burglar’s tools and unlawful mischief.
He was issued a criminal citation to appear at Vermont Superior Court – Criminal Division on Dec. 15 at 10 a.m.
Bruno is being held at Marble Valley Correctional Facility on related probation violations.
