UNION, NJ — A Union Township woman was arrested and charged in connection with a homicide that took place in the late evening hours of Saturday, Union County Prosecutor William A. Daniel and Union Township Police Director Christopher Donnelly announced today.
Erika Hampton, 39, of Union, is charged with first-degree murder, third-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and fourth-degree unlawful possession of a weapon, in connection with the death of Nana Kwadwo Takyi Ankamah, 37, of Union.
At approximately 10:06 p.m. on Saturday, Union Township police officers responded to the Vermella Union Apartments on a report of an unresponsive person.
Upon their arrival, they located Ankamah, who sustained a serious stab wound.
He was transported to a local area hospital, where he was subsequently pronounced deceased.
